The Comfort Angels Approach to Personalized Care

A young woman and an elderly man walking and talking on a residential neighborhood sidewalk lined with trees and houses.

The heart of our care isn’t the number of hours you book, it’s how well we understand the person behind those hours. Every service we provide begins with listening: to your routines, your mobility needs, your cognitive changes, your cultural preferences, and the rhythms that make your day feel safe and familiar.

Once we understand what life looks like for you or your loved one, we shape care around it.

Think of our service packages as starting points rather than limits. They offer helpful structure, but the real work happens in the tailoring—where we match you with the right caregiver, adjust support as needs shift, coordinate with family, and check in regularly to ensure things feel just right.

Whether you need gentle companionship, full personal care, or ongoing guidance from a care manager, the level of support expands or softens depending on what your situation calls for.

This approach means your care plan evolves with you. If mobility changes, we adjust. If routines shift, we adapt. And if family needs more communication or oversight, we make it happen. The goal is simple: care that fits, reliably, respectfully, and with the flexibility that real life requires.

Our Payment Options for In-Home Care

We understand that one of the most important questions families ask is how to pay for care.

At Comfort Angels Home Care, we keep the process straightforward and transparent so you can focus on what truly matters—your loved one’s well-being.

Private Pay

Comfort Angels Home Care operates as a private-pay agency. Families pay directly for services, allowing us to provide flexible care plans without the restrictions often associated with government-funded programs. This structure gives you more control over scheduling, level of care, and adjustments as needs change.

Long-Term Care Insurance

If your loved one has long-term care insurance, many policies may help cover non-medical in-home care services. We provide clear care plans, documentation, and invoices to support families submitting claims to their insurance providers.

VA Pension & Aid & Attendance (When Applicable)

Some Veterans and surviving spouses may qualify for financial assistance through the VA Pension with Aid & Attendance benefit. This benefit can help offset the cost of non-medical in-home care services.

While we do not determine eligibility or bill the VA directly, many families use approved VA benefits to help manage the cost of private-pay care. We’re happy to explain how our services align with what families typically prepare when applying.

Our Personalized In-Home Care Services

Every family’s needs are different, and care should reflect that.

Respite Care — Short-Term Support When You Need a Break

Caring for a loved one is one of the most meaningful roles a person can take on—but it can also be exhausting.

Respite care exists so family caregivers can rest, recharge, and return stronger.

Maybe you’re running on too little sleep.
Maybe work, kids, and life are stretching you thin.
Or maybe you simply need someone trustworthy to step in for a few hours or a few days.

Our respite caregivers provide:

Safety, comfort, and reliable supervision

Support with daily routines—bathing, meals, mobility, and medication reminders

Emotional reassurance for both you and your loved one

If you’ve been wondering whether a short break would help you feel like yourself again, the answer is almost always yes.

Companionship Care — Because No One Should Age Alone

Sometimes the biggest challenge isn’t a diagnosis—it’s the quiet.

Long afternoons with no conversation.

Meals eaten alone.

Days without encouragement, stimulation, or meaningful connection.

Companionship care changes that through:

Warm conversation

Shared hobbies

Walks outside

Games, puzzles, and cognitive activities

Light household help

Simple human presence that makes each day more joyful

For many families, companionship becomes the steady support that helps seniors remain confident, engaged, and safe at home.

Dementia & Alzheimer’s Care — Safe, Familiar, and Compassionate Support

A dementia diagnosis changes the landscape of a family. The home that once felt comforting can quickly feel full of worry.

That’s why specialized memory care at home matters.

At Comfort Angels Home Care, we focus on:

Preserving identity, dignity, and routine

Supporting cognitive engagement

Preventing wandering and fall risks

Reducing confusion and agitation

Offering emotional support for the entire family

We are not just caregivers—we are partners walking this journey with you.
And with our Never Miss a Shift Guarantee, families never have to wonder whether help will actually arrive.

Personal ADL Care — Support with the Tasks That Keep Life Moving

Asking for help isn’t losing independence—it’s maintaining it.

Our care supports seniors with the essential tasks that keep them healthy and safe at home:

Morning and evening routines

Bathing, grooming, and toileting

Mobility and transferring

Dressing

Light housekeeping and meal preparation

Safety monitoring and hydration reminders

When age, surgery, or chronic illness makes daily tasks harder, the right support prevents injuries, hospitalizations, and overwhelming stress.

Post-Surgery Care — A Safe Return Home

Coming home after surgery brings relief—but also concern.

Managing pain, getting in and out of bed, preparing meals, or climbing stairs can be challenging. The first 72 hours after discharge are the most vulnerable. Without proper help, the risks of falls, medication errors, or hospital readmission increase.

Our Post-Surgery Care provides:

Safe mobility support

Medication reminders

Meal preparation

Personal care assistance

Light housekeeping

Clear communication with families

We become the supportive bridge between hospital care and full independence.

Parkinson’s Care — Support for a Complex, Changing Condition

Parkinson’s disease affects far more than balance or tremors. It can change speech, mobility, timing, posture, and confidence—often unpredictably.

Our caregivers understand the unique needs of Parkinson’s and provide:

Support during “off” periods and freezing episodes

Fall prevention and safe mobility

Help with bathing and dressing

Medication reminder routines

Meal prep and hydration support

Gentle exercise encouragement

Steady emotional reassurance

With patience and precision, we help clients maintain independence safely at home in Winnetka, Lake Forest, and across Chicago’s North Shore.

Frequently Asked Questions

“How do you select and train Caregivers?”

We carefully hire through referrals, community networks, and trusted channels.

Each candidate passes interviews, background checks, reference checks, and skill assessments. Caregivers also receive ongoing training, including dementia care, safety, and client service

“Are caregivers employees or contractors?”

All Comfort Angels caregivers are W-2 employees, not independent contractors.

This means we handle payroll, taxes, insurance, and workers’ compensation, families are never responsible for these issues.

We’re licensed to serve families across the entire state of Illinois, giving us the flexibility to support care wherever it’s needed.

While we have the ability to reach any community in the state, our primary focus remains in and around the North Shore area, where we’re most active and deeply connected.

This allows us to deliver attentive, reliable support while still being available to assist clients statewide whenever the need arises.
